Since returning to the F1 landscape, they have been developing at light speed, and last year registered 280 points in the Contructor’s Championship – more than twice as many they had managed in their opening two campaigns.

Aston Martin Aramco Cognizant F1 Team 2024 Cars
Last year was one of huge progress, and a new Aston Martin F1 car model is adding fuel to the raging fire of anticipation ahead of the upcoming campaign, as they aim to break the chokehold that Mercedes and Red Bull have on the competition.
The AMR24 is vastly different from last year’s AMR23 model, with lots of focus on the competency of its aerodynamics.
According to Dan Fallows, Aston Martin Technical Director, the model is “lighter, more aerodynamically efficient and more versatile” than previous models.
Changes in the car’s specs include:
- Suspension: The implementation of a new push-rod suspension encompassing the front and rear. There are isolated improvement, too, with the front suspension aligning more closely with the wing and the floor to maximise the efficiency of air flow. The rear suspension has been tweaked, too, to optimise airflow at the back of the vehicle.
- Front Wing:New over-wheel winglets will help the car’s other downforce-producing surfaces combine more efficiently.
- Chassis: Carbon fibre composite monocoque provides the building blocks for uber safe anti-intrusion panels, ensuring maximum protection for the driver.
What engine do Aston Martin F1’s Cars use?
The Aston Martin F1 engine is powered by Mercedes-AMG mechanics and provides the firepower to what bosses hope will be a sustained championship challenge – but why do they rely on a rival’s mechanical organ?
As part of a partnership established in 2021 between the two luxury car brands to help bring Aston Martin back to the racing table, it was agreed the newcomers could use Mercedes technology until such a time they can develop their own.
Capable of horsepower of up to 1,063, the Aston Martin F1 motor is tightly integrated with other components such as the chassis and aerodynamics to produce some powerful and exciting results – as evidenced by AMR23’s exciting performance last year.

In the two cockpits for Aston Martin this season, we have a delicate blending of youth and experience, with 24 year-old Lance Stroll teaming up with 42 year-old Fernando Alonnso.

Lance Stroll
Born on October 29, 1998, in Montreal, Quebec, Stroll began karting at the age of nine and quickly showed his talent by winning multiple championships. He made his debut in F1 in 2017 with Williams before moving on to Racing Point (now Aston Martin) in 2019. Stroll is known for his speed and aggression on the track, earning him the nickname “The Strollinator.” An added twist to Stroll? Aston Martin F1 ownership has skin in the game – he is the son of the owner Lawrence Stroll.
Fernando Alonso
A bonafide sporting great, he is one of the most successful Formula One drivers of all time, with 32 Grands Prix podium topping moments to his name. Known for his competitive spirit and determination, Alonso continues to be a force to be reckoned with on the race track, despite his advancing years.

Aston Martin F1 Team Manager
Responsible for overseeing the entire operations of Aston Martin, from managing budgets to making strategic decisions and relaying them to the Aston Martin F1 drivers during races, is team manager Mike Krack.
From Aston Martin manager to Formula 3, Krack has a fascinating story to tell.
Born in Luxembourg in 1972, Krack made his name at the Sauber team – beginning as a data analyst before becoming Felipe Massa’s Race Engineer in 2003. When Sauber and BMW joined forces, he became chief engineer. Despite a positive start to life at the elite level, helping guide BMW driver Robert Kubica to victory at the Canadian Grand Prix and sustain a championship challenge of sorts, he left BMW after the team decided to focus on 2009 rather than attempt to get Kubica over the line at the end of the season.
Since then, his career has been rather nomadic, occupying varying roles in Formula Three before rejoining BMW to work as senior performance engineer and Head of Race & Test Engineering, Operations & Organisation among other roles.
Then, in 2022, he was afforded the opportunity to head up operations at Aston Martin, following the departure of Otmar Szafnauer. So far, he has had Aston Martin ownership steadfastly behind his work.
