Football Eurocup 2024 Qualifiers
The Eurocup 2024 qualifiers began in March 2023 and ended in November of the same year. A total of 53 national teams battled over the course of the year to cement their spot in the tournament – Germany did not have to qualify for virtue of being the host nation.
Finalists for Euro 2020 (held in 2021) Italy and England have both secured their passage, while the likes of likely tournament favourites France, Spain, Belgium, Holland, and 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia will all be there.
Eurocup 2024 Groups
The Eurocup 2024 groups have been drawn and there are some mouthwatering ties to look forward to – including not one, but two obligatory ‘Groups of Death’.
Let’s break them down:
Group A
Germany
Scotland
Hungary
Switzerland
The hosts are favourites to advance without much trouble, but they should be wary of some tricky teams – not least Hungary, who can count England and France on a list of big-hitters they have defeated in recent years.
Group B
Spain
Croatia
Italy
Albania
The first candidate for Group of Death sees Euro 2008 and Euro 2012 winners Spain, 2018 World Cup finalists Croatia, defending champions Italy, and a dangerous Albania side.
One of three teams that will fancy their chances of glory is going to depart at the group stage – who it will be is anybody’s guess.
Group C
Slovenia
Denmark
Serbia
England
Is this the year for the Three Lions? The spine of John Stones, Declan Rice, and Harry Kane is world class, and they have real depth to their squad. They will fancy their chances of advancing in a group which includes Denmark, the team they beat in the semi-final of their Euro 2020 run.
Group D
Netherlands
Austria
France
TBC
The second Group of Death contender is yet to be completed, but any team that makes it will have to beat at least one of the favourites in France, a talented Dutch team, and an obdurate Austria that topped a qualifying group including Belgium and Sweden.
Group E
Belgium
Slovakia
Romania
TBC
One of the more sedate groups, Belgium should fancy their chances of advancing, with stars like Romelu Lukaku, and Man City duo Kevin de Bruyne, and Benjamin Doku in their ranks.
Group F
Turkey
Portugal
Czech Republic
TBC
The top-ranked team in the competition, Portugal, should take some stopping, with the evergreen Cristiano Ronaldo spearheading a unit including Barnardo Silva, Bruno Fernandes, and Gonçalo Ramos.

H2: Eurocup 2024 Predictions and Favourites to Win
The tournament feels like an open one, which means it will be tricky to land Eurocup 2024 predictions, but there are two at the top of the pile that will attract a lot of interest – France and England.
Les Bleus should attract marginal favouritism, given their exploits in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, where they lost 4-3 in the final to Argentina in one of the greatest games of football the world has ever seen. With Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann, and Aurélien Tchouaméni to name just a few, they have the firepower to humiliate teams.
However, England will also aim to end 58 years of hurt without a major international trophy. Harry Kane remains one of the best strikers in the world, while Bukayo Saka, Declan Rice, John Stones, and Jude Bellingham make up a formidable supporting cast.
It’s a tough one to call – but England could shave it!
