  • The Valencian club, currently 12th in LaLiga Santander, will launch its Fan Token $LEV on the blockchain-based fan engagement app in the coming months.

VALENCIA, APRIL 30TH 2021:  LaLiga’s Levante UD, in partnership with fintech blockchain providers for the sports and entertainment industry Chiliz, have announced plans to launch a $LEV Fan Token on fan engagement and rewards platform in the coming months.

Fan Tokens are collectible digital assets, minted on the Chiliz blockchain, that provide owners with access to voting rights in polls, VIP rewards, exclusive club and sponsor promotions, AR-enabled features, chat forums, games and competitions on Chiliz’ fan engagement and rewards mobile app

Levante UD reached the semi-finals of the Spanish Copa del Rey this year and are currently placed 12th in LaLiga.

The Valencia-based side will become the third Spanish team to join the roster after FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid and join a 27-strong network of global sporting organizations that also includes Paris Saint-Germain, Juventus, AC Milan and Manchester City.  Several leading esports teams , including Spanish organisation Team Heretics, have also launched Fan Tokens on

The digital collectibles market is currently booming. CoinMarketCap, the world’s most referenced price tracking website for digital assets, has created a dedicated page for Fan Tokens minted on the Chiliz blockchain. The total Fan Token market cap recently exceeded $400M. Fan Tokens generated over $30M USD in revenue in 2020 that was shared with clubs and partners and the company is targeting revenues of $200M in 2021. 

Chiliz will continue its global expansion throughout 2021, increasing its existing presence in Europe while targeting many more Fan Token launches in the UK, Asia and South America.  In March, Chiliz announced a minimum investment of $50M into the US sports industry to target launches with the 5 major US sports leagues. NHL East Division team New Jersey Devils were announced as the company’s first US sports franchise partner yesterday (April 29th).
