An area of Milanello has been dedicated to an AC Milan Legend for the first time ever. The ribbon cutting ceremony will take place on the day of the official renewal of a partnership that was born in the name of innovation to the benefit of fans

AC Milan and launched a poll that gave fans the opportunity to choose the Rossoneri legend that the grandstand of the central field of Milanello should be named after. This was the first activation since became a Premium Partner of the club.

The activation is a milestone fostering a cooperation aiming to engage the 500+ million Ac Milan fans worldwide and is part of a packed polls programme implemented by AC Milan and over summer.

The biggest change brought about in this activation is the voting mode: the poll was accessible to both Fan Token holders already using the platform and newly registered fans who chose Milan as their favourite team. The latter could redeem a free non-tradable Token and use it to cast their vote. In addition to that, 10 Fan Token holders who voted in the poll had the incredible opportunity to spend a day in Milanello, where they met Paolo Maldini and watched a training session with coach Stefano Pioli.

The results of the poll showed a clear favouring for Cesare Maldini, who won with 70.4% of the votes, while Nereo Rocco and Nils Liedholm received 16.85% and 12.75% respectively, in the poll that saw the highest level of engagement since the partnership between AC Milan and was launched. The activation was a true success and it contributed to an 8% increase in the number of AC Milan Token holders worldwide (+15% in Italy).

“It’s a great feeling for me – stated Paolo Maldini during the ceremony -. My first memories of Milanello, and perhaps of AC Milan in general, were born on this very field: my father used to bring us here when he was helping Nereo Rocco after he stopped playing, in the 70s, so I’ve always been especially attached to this place”.

The initiative served as the perfect occasion to officialise the continuation of the partnership between AC Milan and, corroborating the shared wish to put fans at the center and to give them an active role in the life of the club. The partnership that was born in January 2021 in the name of innovation and fan engagement also gives fans access to Fan Rewards, the section of app where the club and its sponsors make rewards, promotions and exclusive experiences available to the fans.
